Rom 13:1. I will be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

Rom 13:2. I will not resist any authority set over me by God for this is like resisting God’s ordinance. Therefore, I will not be judged as those who resist and bring judgement on themselves.

Rom 13:3. Rulers are not a terror to me, for I do good works. I will do what is good, and I will therefore not be afraid of the authority, instead I will receive praise from them.

Rom 13:4. Anybody who has authority over me is God’s minister to me for good,

Rom 13:5. I will therefore be subject to such, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’s sake.

Rom 13:6. For because of this, I also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers always attending to their duties.

Rom 13:7. I will therefore render to all people their dues: taxes to whom taxes is due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, and honour to whom honour is due.

Rom 13:8. I will owe no one anything except to love them, for in loving them, I have also fulfilled the Law.

Rom 13:9. For the commandments that tell me not to commit adultery, nor murder, nor steal, nor bear false witness, nor covet, and any other commandment that may exist, are all summed up in the commandment that tells me to love my neighbour as myself.

Rom 13:10. I walk in love, therefore I do no harm to my neighbour, and the righteousness of the Law is fulfilled in me.

Rom 13:11. And I will do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now my salvation is nearer than when I first believed.

Rom 13:12. And because the night is far spent and the day is at hand, I therefore cast off the works of darkness and I put on the armour of light.

Rom 13:13. I walk properly and honestly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in envy and strife.

Rom 13:14. But I put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lusts.
