Rom 4:1-2. Abraham found that he could not be justified by works, neither could he glory in it before God.
Rom 4:3. The Scripture says that Abraham believed God and it was credited and accounted to him for righteousness; I also believe God and it is credited and accounted to me for righteousness.
Rom 4:4. It is written that to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.
Rom 4:5. And since I do not work but I rather believe and trust God who justifies the ungodly, therefore my faith is credited as righteousness.
Rom 4:6. In agreement with what David said about me and others, to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works, I declare:
Rom 4:7. I am blessed because my iniquities and transgressions are forgiven, and my sins are covered;
Rom 4:8. I am blessed because the Lord will not impute sin to me.
Rom 4:9-10. Faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness and this blessedness comes upon me for I am Christ’s and I am therefore Abraham’s seed and an heir according to the promise (Gal 3:29, Acts 3:25).
Rom 4:11. Abraham is my father because I believe, and (through Christ) righteousness is imputed on me:
Rom 4:12. He is also the father of circumcision to me (and to others either circumcised or uncircumcised) because I walk in the steps of that faith of my father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
Rom 4:13. For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to me, his seed, through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. I received the promise through the righteousness of faith, and not through the Law.
Rom 4:14. If only those that are of the Law are heirs, then faith is made void, and the promise is made of none effect: But I thank God that I – a man of faith – am also an heir, my faith is valid and the promise is made of full effect in my life.
Rom 4:15. It is written that the Law produces wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. But I thank God that Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the Law, for He was made a curse for me (Gal 3:13), there is also no condemnation to me for I’m in Christ Jesus, and I walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Rom 8:1-2) and the righteousness of the Law is fulfilled through me (Rom 8:4). Therefore I will not be visited by any form of wrath ( ).
Rom 4:16. Therefore, it is of faith, that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to me and to all who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
Rom 4:17. As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” before Him whom he believed, even God who quickens and gives life to the dead and calls those things that don’t exist as if they did.
Rom 4:18. **** Even if it looks contrary to hope, I will keep believing in hope, and I will inherit every promise that God has made concerning me, and I will be a father of many nations, according to what was spoken to Abraham, “So shall your descendants be.”
Rom 4:19. I will not be weak in faith, I will not consider my present condition, physical limitations, nor negative reports.
Rom 4:20. I will not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, But I will be strengthened in faith, and I’ll always give glory to God.
Rom 4:21. I remain fully convinced that what God has promised, He is also able to perform.
Rom 4:22. And therefore my faith is accounted to me for righteousness.
Rom 4:23. The righteousness that was imputed upon Abraham was not for his sake alone,
Rom 4:24. but also for me: It is imputed to me since I believe in Him who raised up Jesus my Lord from the dead.
Rom 4:25. I am justified and I’m free from all condemnation because Jesus was delivered up because of my offenses, and was raised because of my justification.
